Project Overview

Elliot Springs, located at the foothills of The Sisters Mountains, just 15 km south-east of Townsville CBD, is Townsville’s newest master planned residential community, developed by Lendlease Communities. Set over 1,654 hectares this development will be home to over 26,000 people in over 10,000 residential dwellings upon completion around 2057. This development includes over 30 percent of the site reserved for open space. Future development will include educational facilities, shopping and lifestyle facilities, open space and recreation, commercial facilities including 60 hectare enterprise park (commercial, technology, business service and light industrial).

 

Appointed as Principal Contractor, provision of civil construction works for residential and commercial subdivision including bulk earthworks, road construction, culvert construction; stormwater drainage, water and sewerage reticulation; conduits (electrical / communications / NBN), erosion and sediment control works, bio-retention basins, retaining wall structures and fencing, acoustic fencing, preservation and protection of existing natural vegetation (individual and group trees).

 

Hansen Constructions NQ has worked closely with Lendlease Communities Pty Ltd to identify opportunities for cost savings through taking on scope of works originally to be delivered by subcontractors, or directly engaged by Lendlease. A specific example of this has been the design and construction of acoustic wall to meet Department of Transport and Main Roads standards. Hansen Constructions NQ sourced approved products and had suppliers train Hansen Constructions NQ workers in the installation of the fencing. This ensured that Lendlease were provided with a cost effective product solution to the client and further built capability within HCNQ’s team to continue the installation of acoustic walls on behalf of Lendlease in future stages of the Elliot Springs development.
